Dojo Camp with Peter Higgins
Posted July 1st, 2009 by brianPeter Higgins, project lead of the Dojo JavaScript toolkit, is visiting North Carolina on July 11, so it's time for a dojo.camp() / dojo.beer().
Join us at Carrboro Creative Coworking on Saturday, July 11, starting at 10am until ??? for a day of hacking and learning. We'll order lunch from one of Carrboro's many fine eating establishments, and head out for drinks when it's all over. Come for as little or as long as you'd like, and BYOB if you're so inclined.
The event is free, but donations to Carrboro Creative Coworking for generously donating the space for the event are much appreciated! Please email rebecca (at) rebeccamurphey (dot) com to RSVP so we know we have enough space.

Starting a no-cost (or low-cost) consulting business
Posted April 20th, 2009 by brianFriday, May 8, 7pm to 8pm, Carrboro Creative Coworking
If you have technical skills to offer and you have considered starting a business but didn't know how to go about it, this session is for you. After a short presentation on the basics, professionals from the nationally respected nonprofit SCORE will facilitate a discussion and answer your questions. Continuing help for your new business is available free from SCORE at locations around the area, too. Join us to get your business started on a shoestring and network with people who can join forces with you for larger projects than you can handle alone.
The audience for this presentation would be people with technical skills such as computer programming, graphic arts, technical writing, and so on. These people could begin consulting businesses immediately with low risk and low initial investment.
Registration limited to 15. Please use the form bellow or this page to register. I'm sorry. This class has reached it's registration limit.
